About George Rice

Today, George could not be happier. He has successfully combined over 30 years of public accounting experience with his love of business aircraft and fishing yachts to create a consulting practice that is uniquely qualified to address even the most complicated aviation and marine issues.  George attributes much of his business success to other aspects of family life, a work ethic and sense of value instilled by his parents, the companionship of his wife Joann, and the counsel of two beautiful and successful daughters, Sharon and Michelle.

 

In business as a sole practitioner since 1993, George soon began specializing in matters specifically related to aviation and marine industries.  Prior to launching his own firm, George enjoyed success as Chief Financial Officer of MetWest, Inc. and as Chief Operating Officer of Cadiz, Inc. George started his career with eight years at Arthur Young & Co., where he worked with many of today’s high technology icons, including Intel, Spectra Physics, and Advanced Micro Devices.

 

George was as an aviation electrician in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam era after which he graduated Suma Cum Laude from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. There he garnered the business school’s highest honor, the Alpha Al Sirat Award.

 

More recently George is an active member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) speaking at various NBAA Regional Forums and in October 2008 became a member of the NBAA Tax Committee.   George especially enjoys the business aviation practice niche because many of his clients also own fabulous fishing yachts.  George is passionate about blue-water sportfishing and travel.  He is a member of several fishing clubs, the Southern California Marine Association and is the founder of Vets Go Fishing, an all volunteer group that takes combat-injured active duty military personnel offshore fishing.
